Zoning & Land Use Attorney | New York | 3+ Years | $250,000-$275,000 + Bonus

AJ Chambers are delighted to be working with a highly regarded New York real estate and land use practice seeking a Zoning Attorney / Land Use Attorney with 3+ years of experience to join its sophisticated development practice.

\n

\n

This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with experience in New York City zoning, land use, development and real estate regulatory matters to advise major developers, institutional owners, investors and property owners on complex development projects throughout New York City.

\n

\n

The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of the New York City Zoning Resolution, with experience conducting zoning analyses, zoning due diligence and advising clients on development opportunities, land use regulations and entitlement strategies.

Key Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Interpret and apply the New York City Zoning Resolution
\n
• Conduct detailed zoning analyses and zoning due diligence
\n
• Advise developers, institutional owners, investors and property owners on zoning and land use issues
\n
• Analyse development potential and development rights
\n
• Advise clients on zoning regulations and land use requirements
\n
• Assist with zoning and land use applications
\n
• Prepare and review legal memoranda, zoning analyses and other written work
\n
• Assist with rezonings, variances and special permits
\n
• Advise on discretionary land use approvals
\n
• Assist clients with environmental and land use review processes
\n
• Work with architects, planners, consultants and other development professionals
\n
• Represent or assist clients before relevant New York City governmental agencies and planning bodies
\n
• Work closely with senior attorneys on complex development projects
\n
• Communicate directly with clients and other project stakeholders
\n

\n

Required Qualifications

\n

\n
• 3+ years of legal experience
\n
• Experience gained in private practice and/or government
\n
• Strong experience interpreting and applying the New York City Zoning Resolution
\n
• Experience with NYC zoning and land use
\n
• Experience conducting zoning analysis and zoning due diligence
\n
• Experience advising clients on real estate development and land use matters
\n
• Strong legal research, drafting and analytical skills
\n
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
\n
• New York Bar admission or eligibility for admission
\n
