Schedule: 1st Shift - Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm

Job Objective: Set-up necessary equipment to make and/or sharpen a wide variety of complex cutting tools under the direction of more experienced tool grinders.

Essential Job Duties:

• Make and/or sharpen variety of complex cutting tools, drills etc., as required to meet production needs
• Review prints, determine angles, contours and radii required to assure cutting tool perform to maximum efficiency
• Be familiar with machine feeds and speeds, tool angles and reliefs for a wide variety of materials
• Maintain records or other data as required
• Maintain area and equipment in neat, orderly condition
• Observe all company policies, rules and regulations including good housekeeping, safety and security
• Provide direction and assistance to less experienced tool grinders
• Perform other duties as required

Requirements:

  Job Specifications:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred and 3-5 years experience
• Excellent communication skills
• Understanding and ability to use various inputs from different sources
• Understanding of broad scope manufacturing processes of the company
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and ability to suggest/implement improvements
• Ability to exercise judgment about tool grinding solutions and processes regarding decision making
